Applicant must

Show a track record of or potential for artistic, scholarly, or professional excellence and continued growth.

Represent an artistic practice, profession, or field of scholarship that is underserved by graduate programs or underrepresented in their home country.

Enroll in a full-time, in-residence, degree-granting graduate program during the funding, and provide proof of admission.
Applicant must

Be a female and a citizen of a developing country or emerging economy.

Be preparing for a PhD degree or post-doctoral research in a STEM discipline.

Be enrolled, admitted or have applied to a host university/research institute abroad.

Hold an excellent academic record.

Be willing to go back to your home country or region upon completion of your studies to contribute to its socio-economic development.

Have a proven record of teaching experience in your home country.

Demonstrate leadership skills, active community outreach and have a track record in encouraging girls and women into STEM.

Hold a non-Italian foreign secondary school diploma or a non-Italian Bachelor's degree.

Not reside in Italy.

Apply to one or more of the degree programmes completely taught in English at the University of Padua.
For secondary school students

Be at least 15 years old and not more than 17 years old.

Have leadership potential, a commitment to or interest in civic action, strong academic and social skills, and an interest in community service.

Have strong English skills.

Preference will be given to participants who have not previously traveled to the United States.
For university students
-
Be a Cambodian citizen with at least 18 years of age when beginning the UGRAD program in the United States.

Be currently enrolled in full-time undergraduate degree program in Cambodia, and must have completed a minimum of their first semester of study.

Have a command of written and spoken English. The TOEFL exam will be required of those selected as finalists or alternates.

Preference will be given to students from non-elite or less-privileged backgrounds, from both rural and urban areas, who have had little or NO prior experience in the U.S. or elsewhere outside of their home countries.

Applicants must be committed to return directly to their home country after the completion of the program.
